South Tour : From Casablanca

 

DAY 01

Arrival at Mohamed V airport. Welcome and transfer to the hotel . Dinner & accommodation in Casablanca .

 

DAY 02

Breakfast and departure to Marrakech via Settat. Upon arrival to Marrakech , the visit of the historical city starts by : the Menara garden , the Saadian tombs , the Bahiapalace and the Koutoubia .

Afternoon , visit of the famous Djemaa el Fna square with its    surrounding souks and handcraft quarters .

Dinner and accommodation at the hotel in Marrakech .

 

DAY 03

Breakfast and departure to Zagora, the last big settlement before the endless sand sea of the Sahara desert . Driving on the national road, passing by the high atlas and crossing the Tizin Tichka pass (2260 m ) .  Visit of the Kasbah Ait Benhadou , the best preserved Kasbah of morocco and actually under UNECO protection . The Kasbah has served as decor for several films like for example : Laurence of Arabia.     Then driving on road  , crossing Taznakht , Bou Azzer and Draa valley while following the left side of the Draa river .

DAY 04

Breakfast and visit of Zagora’s area starting by Tamegrout oasis and its library , which contains scriptures dating back to the 12th century.      Continuation to Merzouga via Tazzarine and Er-Rissani . On the way to Merzouga, the road crosses the pre-saharian desert with its magnificent landscapes and numerous Berber villages where time has stood still .

Dinner and accommodation in bivouac at Merzouga .

 

DAY 05

Optional : Early morning is reserved to admire the sunrise over the sand dunes of Merzouga which offers us a spectacular view, especially to those who don’t mind an early wake up .

After breakfast , the tour heads to Tinghir via Erfoud .     The afternoon is devoted to the exploration of gorges du Todghra with its towering rocks reaching an altitude of nearly 300 meters .

DAY 06

Breakfast and the trip continues to Ouarzazate , along the Dades river, lined with palm trees and Berber villages famous for their rose production .

DAY 07

Breakfast & morning sightseeing of Ouarzazat . Continuation to Casablanca via Taourirt, Demnate, Jemaa Arracha, Benguerir and Settat .

DAY 08

Breakfast and transfer to the airport for return flight , with our full assistance .
